Who operates the platform

Bonaire Marketplace is operated by the configured operator shown above. Privacy questions and requests should be sent to the configured contact email.

Information collected

Depending on how you use the platform, Bonaire Marketplace may process account data, listing data, communication data, safety data and technical data.

• Name, email address, stored phone number, account verification information, password hash, seller profile information and account preferences.
• Listing titles, descriptions, prices, categories, areas, uploaded photos, listing status and favorites.
• Private conversation messages, structured price offers, rental requests, reports, blocks, moderation records and security events.
• IP address, browser and device information, timestamps, necessary cookies or local storage, privacy-conscious analytics events and optional AI input when users request AI suggestions.

Private messages

Messages are stored to deliver conversations, show conversation history, support offers and rental requests, prevent abuse, investigate reported conversations and meet safety or legal obligations.

Why information is used

Basis and fairness

Information is processed where needed to provide the requested service, protect users and the platform, meet legal obligations or act on user permission where relevant. Privacy rules applicable in Bonaire may include the Wet bescherming persoonsgegevens BES. This notice does not make a final legal conclusion about every possible privacy law.

Public and private information

Listing titles, descriptions, prices, categories, areas, photos, seller display names and public seller profile information may be public. Email addresses, stored phone numbers, verification information, private messages, private offers, reports and blocks are not intended to be public.

Conversation and moderation access

Conversation participants normally access their own conversations. Moderators may access relevant content when a listing or conversation is reported, or where necessary for safety, abuse prevention or legal compliance. Administrative changes and some moderation paths are recorded where the current audit-log system supports it.

Service providers and data locations

Providers may process information on behalf of the marketplace. The repository supports Railway for hosting and PostgreSQL, Cloudflare and Cloudflare R2 for security and image storage, Cloudflare Turnstile for bot protection, SMTP email delivery and optional Runpod AI services. Providers receive only information reasonably needed for their function. The platform currently makes no promise that data stays only on Bonaire, in the Netherlands or inside the European Union.

Optional AI features

If AI suggestions are enabled and a user deliberately requests them, submitted listing photos, selected listing information and user-entered hints may be sent to the configured AI provider. AI results are suggestions only, and users remain responsible for reviewing accuracy. Contact details and private messages should not be sent to the AI provider by the current listing-suggestion flow.

Analytics

Internal analytics may record privacy-conscious events such as searches, listing views, listing creation progress, favorites, message events and offer status events. Analytics validation is designed to exclude message content, phone numbers, email addresses and banking information.

Retention

Account information is kept while an account is active and for a reasonable period afterward where needed. Listings may be retained after removal or sale for disputes, moderation, safety and fraud prevention. Messages and offers may be retained for conversation history, disputes and safety. Reports, moderation records and security records may be retained longer to prevent repeated abuse. Verification codes expire. Temporary uploads and logs are removed according to operational schedules.

Retention follow-up

A precise retention schedule must be defined, approved and implemented before broad public launch.

User requests and choices

Users may contact the configured email to request access, correction, eligible deletion, information about processing or objection where applicable. Identity may need to be verified before a request is completed. Some records may be retained for fraud prevention, security, open disputes, moderation or legal obligations.

Security

Bonaire Marketplace uses reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, but no online service can guarantee absolute security. Users should not share passwords, verification codes, full banking credentials or copies of identity documents in messages. Report suspected unauthorized access.

Children

The platform is not intended for children under 16 without involvement and permission of a parent or legal guardian.

Changes to this notice

Material changes will be posted with an updated effective date. Users may be notified where appropriate.
